Hi and welcome to all anglers planning on fishing the marina in the near future. Recently we have had a few issues with anglers using the marina.
Firstly, can all anglers take home all their rubbish with them or place it in the two bins provided by the club. It was a disgrace on our last inspection. There was cans, papers and bait bags scattered all over the facility.
Secondly, all anglers must have the necessary gear and equipment for fishing, be it either coarse or pike fishing. i.e. keep net, landing net, forceps and disgorgers etc. We have had a few comments passed back to us of mishandling of fish. This will not be tolerated.
Thirdly and most importantly the marina is strictly catch and release. If anybody is fishing for pike, the deadbait used must be bought from tackle shops. Anyone caught catching and killing fish for deadbait in the marina or any stretch of the river Barrow in Athy will have their membership revoked and they will be removed from the club. These issues will be adhered to.
